Wickenburg is updating its General Plan and Zoning Code. Your interest and participation in this important endeavor is critical to its success. The updates to these documents will be comprehensive and inclusive, striving to consider the perspective of every citizen.

What is a General Plan?

The General Plan is a community’s long-range vision for the next 20+ years. It is designed to serve as the jurisdiction’s blueprint for future development, informing future social, economic, and physical development decisions. The plan includes the community vision, goals, and policies, with maps and an implementation plan.

What is a Zoning Code?

The Zoning Code is a regulatory document that implements the general plan and guides all development. It describes where and how uses are permitted in the community.

Connection

The connection of the General Plan and Zoning Code serving different purposes. The General Plan will focus on a long-range future vision for Wickenburg, including how the Town government and residents envision their Town for the next 20+ years. The envisioned future of a General Plan gives guidance to how land should be used. The Zoning Code Update focuses on the regulatory elements for how land and existing infrastructure should be used or changed. The Zoning code gives current residents, business owners, and those hoping to invest in the Town regulatory direction.
